Event Updates

Catalyst Fund – The meeting held on March 31 reinforced the vision to invest in B2B SAAS startups at early stage in the Pacific Northwest geography. Our initial goal was to raise $2M for the feeder fund. We were pleasantly surprised with the initial interest and are almost at our goal, expecting to close within the month. We are pleased to inform that Wilson Sonsini, one of the largest law firms in the world, has signed up with us for this program. GoVertical Workshop – On April 19, TiE Seattle and Madrona Venture Labs jointly held panel events with experts to discuss the latest trends in Machine Learning and Deep Learning and leveraging ML technology. Following the panel events, from over 200 applicants, 26 leading ideas were pitched and teams were formed around the top 8 ideas. These teams are now already starting to work together in advance of the Machine Learning Startup Weekend on May 4–6, culminating in the demo day and winners selection on May 6. Read more

TYE Seattle focuses on teenagers (9th-12th grades) who are interested in exploring the challenges and rewards of becoming an entrepreneur while receiving instruction and mentorship from local business leaders. The TYE Seattle Competition will be held on May 5 at Redmond Community Center.  The winning team will compete in the Global Competition in Washington DC on June 23. Read More

Industry Spotlight – The Healthcare Panel Event will discuss trends and opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurial ventures in the rapidly changing healthcare landscape. TiE Seattle Website – We launched the revamped TiE Seattle website in April with up to date information on our people, programs and partners. Over the coming months we will continue to enhance the website and add features. We envision the website as a platform to keep our members updated and be the one-stop resource for any entrepreneur’s needs in the Greater Seattle Area. You can access the website here.
